Dinner Date

Last night Daisy and I had a delicious Japanese Dinner Date at Makino Japanese Buffet. She loves the veggie sushi rolls, seaweed salad, rice noodles, Broccoli AKA "Trees", and Sesame seed balls. For dessert she loves the Carrot Cakes, Apricots, Jell-O "Red", and Mocha pastries. It was so much fun watching her eat and enjoy herself. Daisy usually is a picky eater and it's so hard to just get her to eat something, but she sure loves Japanese food. When our dinner date was over, we went to look at some fish in the fish pond that they have in the middle of their restaurant, she adores looking at them. We had so much fun!

Never Again

Never again will I purchase another Jardine crib! I decided to use Alicia's old crib from when she was a baby for Jasleen, being such a long time ago I decided to look to see if the crib was on recall. I happen to be correct it is on recall. I decided to see what the recall process was so I submitted my info to the company and received a confirmation email that my crib was recalled and what the final steps were to take. The website and email both stated I would get a VOUCHER for the price of the old recall crib. Like everyone else, I got busy, so I just mailed the crib parts/paperwork. I got a confirmation email saying my replacement crib will be shipped soon, with the UPS tracking # included in the email. Since I was supposed to get a voucher I called customer service right away! They said that on 1/20/11 their policy changed and they are now sending replacement cribs instead of vouchers. There was NO info. On the website beforehand about the policy changing, which is why I did not rush to send my parts in, but now the website has been changed to say "replacement crib".  I didn't want to be rude to the customer service lady, but the more I thought about it, the more I second-guessed wanting another crib from this place. It doesn't even seem like they MAKE cribs anymore, so I worried about the quality of the replacement.

I tried calling the company again to complain that I was promised a voucher by them in my first email that they sent me. I was totally given the runaround and they said there was "nothing" they could do. I was told on the phone that the replacement crib is a walnut colored 2-1 crib (crib that converts to a daybed). It sounds like everyone is getting that same crib, no matter what they had before. I looked Jardine up, and they have an "F" as a rating with the BBB! We received our replacement crib and it's such a piece of junk that I wish I had never started the process! I am not a fan of the color "Walnut" and the parts that I sent in were of a 3 in 1  "White" crib! Meanwhile we will use this piece of junk till Jasleen's new crib arrives!...Note: to my family and friends expecting....DO NOT Purchase a crib by Jardine Enterprise!

Leap Day

Yesterday was Leap Day 2/29/2012, Leap day only happens four times a year. So I found this really cool idea to time capsule the day of my family. The idea is to create a snapshot of today and open it 4 years later which I thought would be such a fun and memorable idea! My scrapbooks are chronological and would be the ideal place to keep my time capsule. My contents include-
photos from the day – I took a photo of our family and a few others that will tell the story of what we are doing on that day.
personal stats – This list will include everyone’s current height, weight, hair color, etc.
drawings – My daughter loves to draw, I did and outline of my children’s hands.
weekly routine – I wrote down our weekly school routine as well as church routine.
receipt –I kept a receipt of our shopping at publix and the kids McDonalds treat. The kids love chicken nuggets so I got the special that McDonalds had where your purchase 10 Chicken Nugget for $10 then they give you 10 Free. So the kids got ten nuggets each, costing me only $4.
current costs of living – This list includes the price of gas, milk, postage stamp, etc. I did the current President, Gas price, Cost of the stamp and cost of Milk.
4 handwritten letters – One letter to myself, one to my husband and one to each of my children. Each letter describes what is going on with each person now and what I predict will be happening in 4 years.I can't wait to read these letters to them in 2016!
Such a fun project I put together! Everyone should try this, it will be nice to look back and see what life was like on Leap Day.
I will attach a few pictures that went in my Capsule....

First Veggies

Jasleen had her first veggies today and LOVED it! I decided to start her on Peas since most babies do not like Peas. She loved it so much she didn't want to stop eating it, and I must add...she is a big eater like her daddy. I hope she continues the good pattern of liking to eat, unlike Daisy and Alicia did.
Also Jasleen already knows how to hold her bottle now! It's so beautiful to see my babies grow...
